I have a Tilley hat very much like that! I also have some excellent rain gear from when I lived in Seattle, which is now >20 years ago. Doesn't get a lot of use here but it's great stuff! I've moved a lot and let a lot of things go in my life, but somehow the configurable shelving I bought in 1993 has made it through all those moves (like Ikea but better quality and it sure has lasted). I have a framed card my grandfather gave me in my teens that says "it's amazing what a little TLC can do for little girls and plants". It was stuck in a plant (my grandfather owned a nursery, plants were his thing) and it might be one of the only things he ever gave me. Thanks for making me take a look around my house!

Also - I didn't respond to your question because my thought was that's completely up to you! Do whatever feels right. I post mine on social media, mostly so the people that follow me there and are really interested will sign up here and then I'll have a way to connect with them through the ups and downs and who knows what future of various social media platforms.

Thank you for this Karen. Your grandfather sounds like a great guy who loves what he did.

And thank you for the encouragement. Will likely post soon

Hey Vasant. I have a cagoule that once belonged to my Granny. She bought it in 1980, just after my Grandpa died and she came away with us on a family holiday to Snowdonia in Wales, which is a mountainous region where it rains a lot. She died in 2001 and I started wearing the cagoule when I needed a waterproof. 21 years later I still wear it and it still keeps the rain out. It's now 42 years old!
